Job summary

Verda is seeking a Senior Energy Procurement Specialist for the Nordics, based in Helsinki with hybrid work arrangements. You will own Nordic power origination, PPAs, and market positioning, balancing fixed and floating loads while managing risk and opportunity across the portfolio.

You will bring five+ years in power procurement or trading, with proven PPA closures, Finnish market expertise, and fluency in Finnish and English.

Qualifications

• Five years or more of practical power procurement, origination or trading experience.
• Led PPAs or long-term power contracts personally.
• Nordic market experience with Finnish market essential and local counterparty network.
• Trading fluency: spot and forward pricing, baseload vs profile, hedging instruments.

Responsibilities

• Own Verda's Nordic power position outright: what we have contracted, at what price, over what horizon, and what we do next.
• Run PPAs end to end, from origination and counterparty selection through structuring, negotiation and close, and own the commercial relationship afterwards.
• Set portfolio strategy across the full product set: financial and physical PPAs, baseload volume and the premium attached to it, profiled and shaped products, and spot exposure across available tenors.
• Manage price and risk: know what we are paying, what we are committed to, how the position behaves under a range of market scenarios, and what we would do in each case.
• Build and hold direct relationships with utilities, generators, developers and trading desks in the Nordics.
• Convert our data centre build out into a long term procurement plan with Construction, Site Acquisition and Finance, and feed your market read into wider commercial and policy work.
• Make the calls inside an approved mandate: which counterparties we transact with, how much load is fixed versus floating, what we pay for certainty, and where we take market risk instead.
