Job summary

SEB is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and operate a new Nordic payment platform. You will work on reliable, high-performance systems, focusing on .NET/C# backend, SQL Server optimization, and distributed architectures in a cross-functional team.

Hybrid work model with offices across Stockholm and Vilnius, plus exposure to modern engineering practices and automation. English proficiency required; Swedish a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong background in .NET/C# backend development.
• Strong SQL Server and database optimization skills, including performance tuning, indexing and troubleshooting.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive applications.
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Hands-on experience with container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift.
• Experience with infrastructure and deployment automation.
• Ability to own solutions through their lifecycle from development to production.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Professional English proficiency; Swedish is a plus.

Join us in building a new payment platform that supports critical payment services across the Nordics. You’ll help design, build, and operate solutions that handle growing transaction volumes while meeting high standards for reliability, performance, and regulatory compliance.

You bring:

• A strong background in .NET / C# backend development
• Strong SQL Server and database optimization skills, including performance tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and data-intensive applications
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and messaging platforms such as Kafka or IBM MQ
