Job summary

Varex Imaging in Espoo, Finland seeks a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of next-generation X-ray detectors, guiding concepts from definition to production and collaborating with electronics, systems, manufacturing and product teams.

You will work in a hybrid setup with on-site collaboration, delivering robust designs, supporting prototyping and sustaining engineering, and balancing performance, cost, and manufacturability across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant mechanical design experience from concept to production.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent CAD.
• Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication and additive manufacturing.
• Excellent cross-functional communication in onsite and remote environments.
• Professional working proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of our X-ray detectors.
• Create and maintain CAD models, detailed drawings and BOMs in SolidWorks; manage mechanical documentation throughout release and ECO processes.
• Plan and execute V&V for mechanical subsystems.
• Design manufacturing jigs & fixtures for in-house production teams.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, systems, manufacturing, product, and program management teams.
