Job summary

Varex Imaging, Espoo, Finland, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical design of next‑generation X‑ray detectors. You will develop requirements, create CAD models in SolidWorks, manage BOMs, release processes and ECOs, and drive V&V for mechanical subsystems.

You will collaborate with electronics, systems, and manufacturing teams, balance performance and manufacturability, and support prototyping, pilot builds and supplier qualification across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical design experience from concept to production.
• Strong SolidWorks skills and experience with multiple manufacturing processes.
• Excellent cross-functional communication across onsite/remote teams.
• Professional English proficiency.
• Nice to have: electronics enclosure design with thermal/EMC considerations.
• Experience with thermal management, FEA, and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical architecture and detailed design of detectors.
• Create CAD models, drawings, and BOMs in SolidWorks; manage releases and ECOs.
• Plan and execute V&V for mechanical subsystems.
• Design manufacturing jigs and fixtures for in-house production.
• Collaborate with electronics, firmware, systems, and manufacturing teams.
• Support prototyping, pilot builds, testing, and supplier qualification.
