Job summary

Hamilton Barnes is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and delivery of large-scale data center projects in the Nordics and across Europe. The role offers high autonomy within a small, growing team and requires driving projects from feasibility through commissioning.

You will own HVAC, cooling, and mechanical infrastructure, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and traveling internationally as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical engineering background across large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in design, construction, and commissioning within energy, power, oil and gas, or data centers.
• Good understanding of HVAC, cooling systems, mechanical plant, and associated infrastructure.
• Experience leading engineering workstreams and coordinating contractors and consultants.
• Broad understanding of construction and other engineering disciplines.
• Comfortable taking ownership of projects and traveling internationally.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and technical delivery across new data center developments.
• Oversee HVAC, cooling, ventilation, and associated mechanical infrastructure.
• Review engineering designs and ensure they meet project requirements and standards.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, civil engineers, and local authorities.
• Support projects from feasibility and design through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Identify technical risks, resolve design issues, and ensure projects stay on track.
