Hitachi Energy Italy S.p.A. is seeking an Internal Mechanical Design Training Expert to develop and deliver engineering training across Europe.

You will collaborate with design teams in multiple locations including Bad Honnef, Cordoba, Lodz, Ludvika, Monselice and Vaasa to structure critical knowledge into accessible content. The role blends deep transformer mechanical design expertise with people development, reports into the Hub Engineering Organization, and requires travel across Europe to

Qualifications

• MSc in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in Power Transformers Internal Mechanical Design.
• Deep expertise in Power Transformer design: Core, Windings, Active Part, Cleats & Leads.
• Strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in Creo, SAP, SpecTra-M; familiar with PLM/Windchill and BOM management.
• Experience with DFMEA, root cause analysis and quality processes.
• Ability to explain complex concepts clearly; strong communication and facilitation.
• Experience developing training material, technical documentation or learning programs.
• Collaborative across cultures and locations; fluent English; travel across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Identify competency gaps and learning priorities with Engineering Managers.
• Capture know-how and transform into structured learning content.
• Prepare, maintain and improve training material on Core, Windings, Active Part and Cleats & Leads Design.
• Design and deliver training sessions for new and experienced Internal Mechanical Design Engineers.
• Adapt training methods to different audiences and learning needs.
• Support implementation of skills matrices, learning paths and certification programs.
• Promote knowledge sharing across the European Engineering Community.
• Monitor training effectiveness and propose improvements based on feedback.
• Perform up to 30% design work to stay connected to current mechanical design practices.
• Contribute to engineering improvement projects requiring transformer mechanical design expertise.
