Senior Marine Project Engineer

Job summary

Evac Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Project Management team. You will own the technical scope of complex Engineer-to-order customer projects, engaging directly with customers, shipyards and suppliers to ensure successful delivery throughout the full lifecycle from sales handover to ship delivery.

The role demands strong marine engineering expertise, stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate fast-paced discussions with shipyards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a marine, shipbuilding or shipyard environment.
• Experience managing the technical scope of engineering projects.
• Ability to engage confidently with customers, shipyards and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience reviewing technical specifications and deliverables.
• Background in process engineering, process equipment or industrial systems.
• Understanding of vessel design, construction, commissioning or maintenance.
• Knowledge of marine wastewater, water treatment, HVAC or fluid handling systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the technical scope of assigned customer projects.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during project execution.
• Lead technical discussions with shipyards, vessel owners and stakeholders.
• Translate customer requirements into clear engineering deliverables.
• Develop engineering task breakdowns and execution plans.
• Coordinate activities across process, mechanical, electrical and automation disciplines.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to meet requirements.
• Monitor progress, budgets and milestones; report to Project Managers.
• Review costs and identify opportunities to improve performance.
• Support procurement, production, FAT and delivery activities.
• Ensure all project documentation is completed to a high standard and delivered on time.
