Job summary

DAMAC Digital is seeking an experienced construction lawyer to support the development and delivery of large-scale data center infrastructure across Europe. You will draft, negotiate, and advise on complex contracts, acting as a subject matter expert on Finnish law and market practices.

You will partner with procurement, project leadership, and external advisers, handling cross-border transactions and high-value projects in a fast-paced international environment.

Qualifications

• PQE of 10+ years.
• Experience in international law firms.
• Construction-focused practice experience.
• Engineering, construction, or data center background.
• Experience advising on complex procurement and tendering activities.
• Involvement in major data center, energy, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and administration of complex construction contracts for large-scale development projects.

• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and commercial risks arising from project contracts.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, project directors, procurement teams, and external advisers.
• Support cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional projects.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced construction lawyer to support the development and delivery of large-scale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects across Europe. The successful candidate will be a highly commercial, front-end construction lawyer with extensive experience of drafting, negotiating, and advising on complex construction and project agreements.

This role will play a critical part in supporting project delivery teams, procurement functions, and senior leadership on legal and commercial risks associated with the construction, procurement, and operation of major infrastructure assets.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Finnish construction law and standard forms of construction contracts, including KSE and YSE, combined with international experience across EPC, Design & Build, NEC, equipment supply, and major supplier agreements.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and administration of complex construction contracts for large-scale development projects.
• Act as the subject matter expert on Finnish construction legislation and market practice.
• Work closely with external counsel where required.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate legal and commercial risks arising from project contracts.
• Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice to internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with executive leadership, project directors, procurement teams, and external advisers.
• Support cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional projects.

Required Experience

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ years' post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Significant experience gained within:
• International law firms
• Construction-focused legal practices
• Engineering, construction, or data center organizations
• Demonstrated experience supporting High value projects.
• Experience advising on complex procurement and tendering activities.
• Previous involvement in major data center, energy, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Law Degree (LL.M., Master of Laws, or equivalent).
• Qualified to practice law in Finland or another European jurisdiction.
• Membership of relevant professional legal bodies.

Language Requirements

• Fluent Finnish (written and spoken)
• Professional / Fluent English (written and spoken)
• Additional Nordic languages would be advantageous.
• Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, international project environment.
