Job summary

Cititec is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a major hyperscale data centre construction project in Helsinki, Finland. You will manage commercial activities to keep the project within budget and ensure contractual compliance.

The ideal candidate has a solid track record in cost control, procurement, valuations and final accounts, with strong communication skills to coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or degree-level qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or related discipline.
• Proven experience in cost control, procurement and valuations on construction projects.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to completion.
• Prepare and monitor budgets, valuations, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the wider project team.
• Support the Commercial Manager and Project Manager with commercial reporting and decision-making.
• Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and contractual requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, including cost control, procurement, valuations, subcontractor management and final accounts, ensuring the project is delivered within budget and to the required commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial aspects of the project from procurement through to completion.

• Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, variations and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Review contracts, drawings, specifications and commercial documentation.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, clients and the wider project team.
• Support the Commercial Manager and Project Manager with commercial reporting and decision-making.
• Ensure all commercial activities are delivered in line with company procedures and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline.
• Experience managing the commercial aspects of construction projects.
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement and cost control.
• Experience managing subcontractors, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple commercial priorities.
• Data centre / mission-critical construction experience is highly desirable.
