Job summary
Fiskars Group is seeking a seasoned Principal Engineer, Hardware & Electronics to define hardware architectures and technology roadmaps for its Power Tools R&D. You will lead concept development and technical decision-making across batteries, motors, and embedded systems, collaborating with design, manufacturing and suppliers to deliver robust, scalable product platforms.

Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Embedded Systems or related engineering discipline.
Responsibilities
- Define electronic architectures and technology platforms for future generations of Fiskars Power Tools.
- Lead concept development and technical feasibility activities for battery-powered products and subsystems.
- Drive system-level design decisions involving batteries, motors, power electronics, embedded systems, sensors, connectivity and user interfaces.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into product and platform opportunities.
- Guide hardware and embedded development teams throughout New Product Development.
- Perform advanced technical reviews, analysis, and validation activities to ensure performance, reliability, safety and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, embedded software, industrial design, manufacturing, quality and sourcing teams to create integrated product solutions.
- Work with suppliers, EMS partners and component manufacturers to assess technologies, capabilities, and implementation strategies.
- Support definition of technology roadmaps, reusable architectures, engineering standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to root-cause investigations and resolution of complex technical challenges.
