Job summary

Eaton's CPS team in Vantaa is seeking a Senior Firmware & FPGA Engineer to drive embedded firmware and FPGA development for next-generation MVSST technology. You will design real-time control algorithms, high-speed digital control, and robust protection features, collaborating across global teams to ensure safe, efficient power electronics systems.

Responsibilities include implementing C++ firmware and FPGA logic (VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog), performing hardware-in-the-loop testing, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in electrical or electronics engineering or equivalent.
• Experience delivering firmware/FPGA solutions for power electronics or industrial controls.
• Strong knowledge of real-time embedded systems and state-machine design.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded firmware and FPGA solutions for MVSST systems and real-time control algorithms.
• Develop high-speed digital control functions for power converters in medium-voltage applications.
• Collaborate with global teams to develop, test, and release firmware/FPGA functionality across product portfolios.
• Analyze architectures and requirements to design scalable, robust solutions meeting performance, reliability, and safety objectives.
• Develop firmware in C++ and implement FPGA logic using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog; ensure compliance with coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and enhance product features; create specifications, design docs, and verification reports.
• Conduct hands-on testing in high-voltage/high-power labs; support verification plans including HIL, simulation, and automated tests.
