Job summary

Cloud Protection is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence team in Helsinki. You will design data systems that support threat detection, protection decisions and security research, working across data engineering, architecture and analysis.

This role blends hands-on data engineering with architectural ownership, collaborating with threat researchers, detection engineers and development teams to translate security use cases into practical data solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Python or similar programming languages.
• Experience designing scalable data systems for large data volumes.
• Experience with real-time or near-real-time processing.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms and distributed data processing.
• Ability to analyze data quality issues and validate solutions.
• Knowledge of architectural trade-offs in performance, reliability and cost.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data architectures to support threat detection and analytics.
• Build and maintain data pipelines and processing workflows for security telemetry.
• Define data models and storage approaches for real-time decisions and historical investigations.
• Analyze datasets to identify quality issues and support detector development.
• Evaluate data technologies and architectures balancing performance, reliability, maintainability and cost.
• Ensure data quality, access, retention and monitoring across data systems.
• Collaborate with threat researchers, detection engineers and developers to translate security use cases into data solutions.
