Job summary

SSA Recruitment Mainland Europe seeks a Commercial Manager to oversee project financial management for a large-scale data centre in Helsinki. The role is long-term and relocation-based, joining a top-tier contractor with a track record on major developments.

The candidate will lead valuations, cost control, and the on-site commercial team, with relocation support and a full benefits package. Fluency in English required; Finnish a plus. Right to work in the EU or Finland is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying – essential
• Minimum 10 years' commercial experience, ideally with a main contractor
• Proven background in industrial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects - essential
• Chartered (RICS, SCSI, or similar) or actively working toward chartership
• Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills
• Proficient with cost management and project control software
• Fluent English; Finnish language skills a plus but not required
• Right to work in Finland or the EU is mandatory

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly valuations, progress claims, and final accounts.
• Monitor cash flow forecasts and project cost reports.
• Work with procurement to review and administer subcontracts.
• Analyse contract documentation to highlight risks or discrepancies.
• Liaise with client representatives to confirm valuations and variations.
• Lead commercial performance, ensuring accuracy and compliance across contracts.
• Lead and mentor the commercial and quantity surveying team on site.
• Maintain thorough documentation of contract changes, variations, and delays.
