Job summary

ALTEN Finland is seeking a commercially driven Head of Energy & Infrastructure to lead growth across energy, infrastructure, process, industrial, and capital project sectors. You will define strategy, develop major client relationships, and drive international opportunities while building high-performing teams.

The role combines strategic leadership, business development, and operational execution to position ALTEN as a premier engineering partner in Finland and beyond.

Qualifications

Head of Energy & Infrastructure Business – ALTEN Finland

Lead the Growth of ALTEN’s Energy & Infrastructure Business

ALTEN Finland, part of the ALTEN Group (60,000+ experts worldwide), is looking for a commercially driven and visionary Head of Energy & Infrastructure Business to lead and accelerate our growth within the energy, infrastructure, process, industrial, and capital project sectors.

This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for defining and executing the business strategy, developing key client relationships, expanding international business opportunities, and building high-performing engineering organizations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in positioning ALTEN as a preferred engineering and technology partner for major energy transition, industrial investment, and infrastructure programs across Finland and international markets.

As Head of Energy & Infrastructure Business, you will combine strategic leadership, business development, operational excellence, and people leadership to deliver sustainable growth and long-term value creation. You will report directly to the managing director of Finland and be part of the country leadership team.

Your Mission: Build, Scale and Lead

You will be responsible for the overall performance and development of ALTEN Finland’s Energy & Infrastructure business, including:

Strategic Business Leadership

• Define and execute the business strategy for energy, infrastructure, process, and industrial sectors.
• Drive profitable growth and ensure achievement of business objectives.
• Lead market expansion initiatives and identify new growth opportunities in Finland and internationally.
• Develop long-term business plans aligned with ALTEN Group strategy.
• Lead strategic sales activities and long-cycle business development initiatives.
• Build and manage a robust pipeline of opportunities across energy transition, infrastructure, industrial investment, mining, and process industries.
• Develop executive-level customer relationships with major clients and stakeholders.
• Lead complex contract negotiations and commercial agreements.
• Drive key account growth and expand ALTEN’s presence within strategic customers.
• Own business performance, profitability, forecasting, and operational execution.
• Ensure effective governance, reporting, and pipeline management.
• Align sales, recruitment, and project delivery to maximize customer satisfaction and financial performance.
• Drive continuous improvement of business processes and operating models.

Leadership & Organization Development

• Build, develop, and lead multidisciplinary engineering and consulting teams.
• Recruit and retain high-performing managers and technical experts.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, entrepreneurship, and performance.
• Coach and develop future leaders within the organization.

Industry Leadership

• Position ALTEN as a leading partner within:
• Energy transition programs
• Datacenter projects
• Renewable energy projects
• Power generation and transmission
• Process and refining industries
• Mining and bioindustry sectors

What We Are Looking For:

Experience & Background

We are looking for a senior executive with a strong combination of commercial leadership, industry expertise, and organizational development experience.

You likely possess:

• Master's degree in Engineering, Energy Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of leadership experience within energy, infrastructure, industrial, engineering, or project-driven businesses.
• Proven track record of driving growth in complex and capital-intensive project environments.
• Extensive experience in strategic sales, business development, and key account management.
• Strong background in energy, infrastructure, process industry, industrial investments, or engineering consulting.
• Experience leading international business initiatives and cross-border teams.
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling engineering or expert organizations.
• Experience managing business performance, forecasting, governance, and operational execution.
• Experience from the consultancy industry.
• Strategic sales leadership and long-cycle business development.
• P&L ownership and business management.
• International market expansion and growth strategy execution.
• Executive stakeholder management and relationship building.
• Complex contract negotiation and commercial leadership.
• Organizational development and leadership coaching.
• Strong commercial acumen combined with engineering understanding.
