Job summary

SEB in Finland seeks a Senior Backend Developer to join the Investment Overview team, building the core data layer, data sourcing, aggregation and API interfaces powering the customer view.

You will work in a small team, collaborating closely with the Product Owner and stakeholders to ensure smooth development, maintenance and production deployment. The role offers a hybrid work model with up to two remote days per week and opportunities to grow in cloud, CI/CD and scalable systems.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Senior C# developer, and the .NET ecosystem.
• Ability to write clean, testable, maintainable code with agile practices.
• Strong understanding of complex system architecture, scalability, security and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the core data layer, including data sourcing, aggregation and API interfaces.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owner and stakeholders to ensure smooth development, maintenance and production deployment.
• Develop high-availability, high-performance backend systems with modern CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.
• Provide REST/GraphQL/gRPC APIs and asynchronous messaging for event-driven architectures.
• Explore agentic workflows and potential integration of LLMs into development pipelines.

About the role:

As a senior backend developer, you will join the team responsible for building the foundation of our future customer experience: theInvestment Overview. Thisprovides information forthe first thing customers see when they log into our app or web platform, making it one of the most critical drivers of customer satisfaction. In this role, you willbe part ofdesigningand implementingthe core data layer - including data sourcing, aggregation, compilation, and the API interfaces - that powers this experience end to end.

You will work in a small team, collaborating close to Product Owner, stakeholdersand coworkers to ensuresmoothdevelopment, maintenance and deployment in production.
The solution will grow over the coming years, so you will be part ofclarifying requirements as well as designing the solutions going forward.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

• Extensive experience asa Senior C# developer,andthe .NET ecosystem.
• The abilityand desireto write clean, testable and maintainable code, usingagile methodologiesas needed.
• A good understanding of complex system architecture & design (scalability, security and maintainability).
• Experienceof building high‑availability, high‑performance backend systemsin an environment using modern CI/CD pipelines connected to cloud platforms.
• Insights related toprovidingAPIs (REST/GraphQL/gRPC) andasynchronousmessagingfor event driven architectures.
• Experiencedevelopingand deploying withDocker and Kubernetes, preferably on GCP.
• Curiosity toward agentic workflows in various parts of software development.
• An interest in the financial markets, and an understanding of how a customer’s total investments are built up by individual positions of financial instruments.
• Experience using LLMs as part of your development workflow,either professionally or through personal projects.
