Job summary

SEB Kort is seeking a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our cross-functional agile team. You will design and develop robust Java-based back-end systems and APIs, collaborating with product owners, architects, and stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.

You will help maintain high code quality, testing, and performance while participating in agile ceremonies and driving continuous improvement.

Are you a skilled backend developer with deep Java expertise, a strong solution-oriented mindset, and a passion for clear communication? SEB Kort is now looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our dynamic team and play a key role in driving our digital journey.

Our cross-functional agile team develops and manages services that customers use every day, including loyalty programs, discounts, Apple Pay provisioning, digital receipts, transaction management, and dispute handling. We ensure seamless payment experiences, secure card services, and effective customer communication.

About the role

• Designing and developing robust Java-based back-end systems and APIs


• Collaborating closely with product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions

We believe you are a senior developer who combines strong technical skills with excellent communication abilities. You're as comfortable discussing architecture and integration as you are explaining technical details to non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in collaborative environments and take pride in delivering high-quality solutions.

You also have:

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java development (preferably Java 21+)


• Solid experience with Spring/Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices


• Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)


• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices


• Fluency in Swedish & English, both written and spoken
