Cloud Protection by WithSecure is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and operate Python services that power Security Core on AWS. You will develop detection pipelines for malware, phishing, and identity-based attacks, and implement observability to measure latency, throughput, and reliability.

You will drive architecture decisions for scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure, while collaborating with threat intelligence and product teams.

Formación

• Deep engineering fundamentals: solid professional experience in system design, distributed systems, concurrency, and API design.
• Proven ability to design cloud architecture on AWS: choosing the right services and making trade-offs between scalability, reliability, security, and cost.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production services on AWS, including infrastructure as code.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development as a daily way of working, with engineering judgment to validate results.
• Confident Python backend development.
• A practical, well-grounded approach to software testing.
• Clear communication and the ability to collaborate across engineering, threat intelligence, and product.
• Fluent English.

You’ll join the engineering team building Security Core, the detection platform behind Cloud Protection. It runs in our own AWS environment and analyzes threats in Salesforce, returning the verdicts and intelligence the app enforces as customer policy.

You’ll work across the full lifecycle of the platform: designing and building services, putting them into production, measuring how they perform on real traffic, and operating them for reliability and performance.

We work AI-natively. AI-assisted tools are part of how we explore solutions, write and review code, test, document, and improve how we work, and we expect you to use them with judgment, validating what they produce rather than taking it on trust.

What are we looking for?

• Deep engineering fundamentals: solid professional experience in system design, distributed systems, concurrency, and API design. We care more about reasoning from first principles than about familiarity with any particular framework
• Proven ability to design cloud architecture on AWS: choosing the right services and making the trade-offs between scalability, reliability, security, and cost
• Hands-on experience building and operating production services on AWS, including infrastructure as code
• Fluency with AI-assisted development as a daily way of working, backed by the engineering judgment to direct it well and validate what it produces
• Confident Python backend development
• A practical, well-grounded approach to software testing
• Clear communication and the ability to collaborate across engineering, threat intelligence, and product
• Fluent English

The salary displayed on this page represents the starting point for the role. Final compensation is discussed individually and depends on experience, skills, and the local market.
