Job summary

Business Finland is seeking a Senior Advisor to strengthen international investment promotion in Eastern Finland and connect the region’s opportunities with Invest in Finland’s national and international networks. You will develop Eastern Finland’s investment opportunities with regional partners, connect them with Invest in Finland’s networks, identify leads and move them into qualified projects.

SENIOR ADVISOR, INVEST IN FINLAND, EASTERN FINLAND

We are looking for a Senior Advisor to strengthen international investment promotion in Eastern Finland and connect the region’s opportunities with Invest in Finland’s national and international networks. In this position, you will work as part of the Invest in Finland team and focus on the five regions of Eastern Finland, South Savo, North Karelia, North Savo, South Karelia and Kymenlaakso.

Your role is to bring together regional expertise, national investment promotion and international investor networks. You will help partners build a compelling investment offering and move opportunities from early interest towards concrete projects. Priorities and annual objectives are agreed and followed jointly with regional partners.

In this role, you will:

• Develop Eastern Finland’s investment opportunities and value propositions with regional and national partners
• Connect regional opportunities with Invest in Finland’s international investor activities, sector expertise and networks
• Identify and develop investment leads and help turn them into qualified projects
• Support international companies considering establishing or expanding operations in Eastern Finland
• Coordinate cooperation and a shared investment pipeline across Business Finland, regions, municipalities and other partners
• Bring investor insight into regional development and represent Business Finland and Invest in Finland in relevant networks

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We particularly value experience in foreign direct investment, location development or international expansion, knowledge of Eastern Finland’s business environment and networks, and familiarity with industrial, technology, R&D or other strategically significant investments.

• Relevant experience in international business, investment promotion, business development or ecosystem development
• Understanding of how companies assess locations and make international investment decisions
• Strong collaboration, facilitation, communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to develop an initial lead into a structured project and to work independently across organizational boundaries
• Excellent spoken and written English and Finnish
• A relevant higher education degree or equivalent professional experience

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a temporary position located along good transport connections in Ruoholahti, Helsinki. The role is linked to a three-year fixed-term cooperation arrangement. The project ends at the latest at the end of 2029. The final duration and starting date will be confirmed in the employment offer.

The salary range in the position is 5 700 – 6 400 euros per month, depending on the selected candidate’s experience and qualification.
