Job summary

NoA Connect Finland is seeking an SEM Trainee in Helsinki for a 6-month, full-time paid traineeship starting October 2026. You’ll learn to build and optimise search campaigns, perform keyword research, and work with Google Ads, Google Analytics and Looker Studio.

You will gain hands-on experience with AI tools, contribute to client strategy, and progress toward becoming a full-time SEM Specialist. Office-based role in Kruununhaka with remote days by agreement.

Qualifications

• Curiosity about how ads work and the numbers behind them.
• Studying or recent graduate in marketing, business, economics, statistics or similar.
• Fluent Finnish and English, spoken and written (client work requires both).
• Comfort with data; you don't need to be an analyst but a spreadsheet shouldn’t scare you.

Getting into advertising from the outside can be hard. This traineeship is your way in.

NoA Connect Finland is looking for an SEM Trainee to join our Helsinki team. You don't need agency experience or a Google Ads certificate. What you need is curiosity about how advertising actually works, a head for numbers, and the drive to learn fast.

The role in short

A 6-month, full-time, paid traineeship, starting October 2026. Our hope is that this becomes the start of something longer-term: most of our trainees go on to join us as full-time SEM Specialists, though we can't promise it in advance.

What you'll learn to do

• Build, manage and optimise search advertising campaigns

• Run keyword research, competitor analysis and performance reporting

• Work daily with Google Ads, Google Analytics and Looker Studio

• Use AI on real client accounts with our own in-house AI stack, and learn when to question what it tells you

• Get in early on advertising inside AI platforms, including ChatGPT ads, while they're still being built

• Contribute to real client strategy and data-driven decisions

You'll start by watching and assisting. By month six, you'll own parts of client accounts and present your own analysis. How fast you get there is mostly up to you.

AI is a real part of this role

We move fast and we're AI-savvy. Our specialists use an in-house AI stack every day, and we extend it most weeks. It connects directly into the platforms we work in, so it reads live account data instead of guessing.

For you that means two things. You learn to use AI on real client data, with the judgement to recognise when its answer is wrong. And you help build it, because the people closest to the daily work are the ones who spot what should be automated next.

The same shift is happening to advertising itself. AI platforms are becoming media channels, and ChatGPT ads are the clearest example yet. Nobody has years of experience here. You'll be learning it at roughly the same pace as everyone else in the industry, which is a rare edge to have this early in a career.

Existing experience with AI tools is a clear plus. Curiosity about them is a requirement.

What we're looking for

• Genuine curiosity about how ads work behind the scenes, and what the numbers are actually saying

• Comfort with data: you don't need to be an analyst, but a spreadsheet shouldn't scare you

• Fluent Finnish and English, spoken and written (client work requires both)

• Studying or recently graduated in marketing, business, economics, statistics or something adjacent. Different background? Show us you can do the work and apply anyway

• Able to work from our Kruununhaka office most days. Traineeships happen through overhearing, asking and being asked, which is hard to replicate over video. Remote days by agreement once you're up and running

Nice to have, not required: hands-on Google Ads, Excel or SQL experience, familiarity with AI tools, an e-commerce background, or any project where you've spent your own money on ads and learned something from it.
