Job summary

ICEYE in Espoo, Finland, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Networking) to build the networking backbone of our satellite-ground communications. You will shape TT&C gateway architecture, balance traffic, and ensure robust operation over low-bandwidth, high-latency links.

You will contribute to design decisions, improve resilience, and collaborate across teams to deliver automated, scalable systems while mentoring junior engineers and advancing code quality.

Qualifications

• Deep networking mastery: socket programming, TCP/IP, routing, traffic shaping, and load balancing for high-latency links.
• Proven track record of building and operating automated/distributed systems in production.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with data-driven problem solving.
• Proficiency in at least two of Python, Go, and Rust.
• Experience in Kubernetes-native environments, Docker, and AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Interest in applying AI/LLM tools to assist software development.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver TT&C Gateway evolutions with documented trade-offs.
• Improve link reliability and fault tolerance over degraded connections.
• Stand up or improve automated anomaly detection and recovery procedures.
• Integrate the gateway with ground stations, antennas, and mission control tooling.
• Raise code quality and delivery discipline with CI/CD and automated testing.
• Mentor junior engineers to raise the technical bar.
