Job summary

Normet Group in Finland seeks a Design Engineer, Routing to design cable and hose routings for underground mining equipment and to develop routing design across the product portfolio. You will collaborate with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical engineers and work closely with production and prototype teams in Iisalmi.

The role offers hybrid work, hands-on shop floor exposure, and the chance to influence manufacturability, serviceability and installation quality on a global scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or comparable field.
• 2 years of experience in 3D design or product development.
• Experience with design and PLM tools (Autodesk Inventor, Sovelia, Zuken E3).
• Basic understanding of electrical and hydraulic schemes.
• Fluent written and spoken Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Design and model cable, harness and hose routings for new and existing equipment.
• Work hands-on in production and prototype workshop to validate routings.
• Handle large CAD datasets and maintain data quality.
• Create and maintain item and BOM data in Sovelia; support ECR/ECO processes.
• Support new product development and ramp-up with focus on manufacturability.
• Harmonize routing practices and standard components across products.
• Identify and drive improvements in routing design methods and templates.
