Job summary

Normet Oy in Iisalmi, Finland, seeks a Design Engineer, Routing to design cable and hose routings for underground mining equipment, collaborating with Production and Prototype teams to translate hands‑on insights into robust, scalable designs.

You will work with Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical engineering teams, manage large CAD datasets, and maintain BOM data in Sovelia while supporting ECR/ECO processes and product ramp‑ups. Hybrid work is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 2 years of 3D design or product development experience.
• Experience with routed systems (hoses, cabling, harnesses) is a strong advantage.
• Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor, Sovelia or Zuken E3.
• Fluent Finnish & English.

Responsibilities

• Design and model cable, harness and hose routings for new and existing equipment using Autodesk Inventor and Zuken E3.
• Hands-on work in production and prototype workshop to understand installation and feed findings back into design.
• Work with large CAD datasets and assemblies, keeping structures, performance and data quality under control.
• Create and maintain related item and BOM data in Sovelia and support engineering changes (ECR/ECO).
• Support new product development projects and ramp-up with focus on manufacturability and installation quality.
• Harmonize routing practices, design rules and standard components across products, teams and sites.
• Identify improvements in routing design methods, templates and reusable content and drive them forward.
