Job summary

Normet Group is seeking a Prototype Machine Mechanic for its technology development operations in the Tampere area. The role involves building prototype machines, hydraulic and mechanical installation work, assembly, troubleshooting and repairs, with occasional travel within Finland and abroad.

Qualifications

• Suitable vocational training as a hydraulic and/or mechanical fitter, or other equivalent training in the machinery field.
• Experience in mechanical and hydraulic installations of mining machines and/or electric vehicles, or maintenance of the above-mentioned machines.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Knowledge of electrical, automation and field bus technologies is considered an advantage.
• Good IT skills.
• English language required; Finnish an advantage.

Job description

We are looking for a Prototype Machine Mechanic for Normets technology development operations in the Tampere area.

The Tampere Technology Center is responsible for developing, building and testing Normets new technologies. The solutions being built are new and differ from one another, making the work highly varied and versatile. The employment relationship is permanent. Working hours are mainly regular daytime work with flexible working hours, five days a week. The role requires occasional travel within Finland and abroad. The position will start as agreed, with the latest start date of October 2026.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Building prototype machines to be assembled
• Hydraulic and mechanical installation work
• Machine assembly, troubleshooting and repairs
• Other tasks related to prototype machines according to competence

We hope that you have:

• Suitable vocational training as a hydraulic and/or mechanical fitter, or other equivalent training in the machinery field
• Experience in mechanical and hydraulic installations of mining machines and/or electric vehicles, or maintenance of the above-mentioned machines
• Strong collaboration skills
• Knowledge of electrical, automation and field bus technologies is considered an advantage.
