Job summary

Normet is seeking a Prototype Equipment Electrical and Automation Technician for its Technology Development team in the Tampere area. The role focuses on building, testing, and refining prototype equipment and control systems across diverse projects.

You will contribute to electrical installations, automation setups, and rigorous testing while collaborating with a skilled team to advance mining technology innovations.

Qualifications

• Suitable vocational education as an electrical/automation technician.
• Experience in electrical and automation installations for mobile machinery and/or electric vehicles.
• Knowledge of automation and field bus technology.
• Good IT skills.
• Language: English; Finnish a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Prototype Equipment Electrical and Automation Technician to join Normets Technology Development team in the Tampere area. The Tampere Technology Center is responsible for developing, building, and testing Normets new technologies. The solutions being built are new and differ from one another, making the work highly varied and versatile.

The employment relationship is permanent. Working hours are mainly regular daytime work with flexible working hours, five days a week. The role requires occasional travel within Finland and abroad. The position will start as agreed, with the latest start date of October 2026.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Building prototype equipment assemblies
• Electrical installations (low-current and high-voltage installations)
• Automation installations
• Testing and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems in prototype equipment
• Other tasks related to prototype equipment, depending on your skills

• Suitable vocational education as an electrical/automation technician
• Experience in electrical and automation installations for mobile machinery and/or electric vehicles
• Fluent collaboration skills
• Knowledge of automation and field bus technology
• Good IT skills
• Language skills: English; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage
