Job summary

Telia is seeking a Voice Core Network Engineer to join our Finland team. You will maintain, develop and secure Finland's Voice Core services including VoLTE and VoNR, while collaborating with the wider Telia footprint to drive cloud-native telecom transitions.

The role requires hands-on experience in Voice Core, IMS, SIP, Diameter and related protocols, plus scripting and automation skills, English fluency, and a proactive, service-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Voice Core, IMS, telecom operations or mobile core network environments.
• Strong knowledge of telecom services and protocols (such as SIP, Diameter and SS7/SIGTRAN), Linux environments, as well as solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and IP domain.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex incidents, analyze logs, traces and signaling flows, and drive problems to resolution across multiple stakeholders.
• Hands-on skills in scripting, automation or operational tooling.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Be a key contributor in maintaining, developing and securing Finland's mobile Voice Core services and platforms.
• Operate, maintain and develop Voice Core platforms and services in Finland, including VoLTE, VoNR and Voice Interconnect.
• Create operational improvements, automation capabilities and service quality enhancements through lifecycle management, testing, software upgrades, and modernization activities.
• Consult and collaborate with vendors, architects, developers, operations teams and customer-facing stakeholders to resolve complex service issues.
• Handle incidents, customer complaints, troubleshooting, root-cause investigations and participate in on-call duty supporting critical voice services.
