Job summary

Hiab is seeking an R&D Engineer, Control Systems in Raisio, Finland, with a focus on embedded software for demountable products. You will design, develop, and deliver PLC software and control solutions, collaborating with other departments and supporting stakeholders across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates hold a technical degree and have strong C/C++, Codesys, Qt skills, plus experience with display systems, camera tech, and Matlab/Simulink. English and Finnish fluency is required.

Qualifications

• A university degree (Master's or Bachelor's) in a relevant technical field.
• Experience from programming (C, C++, Codesys, Qt).
• Practical knowledge of Atlassian tools and version management systems.
• Demonstrated experience from display systems and knowledge from camera systems.
• Experience from modelling and simulation (Matlab, Simulink) is seen as benefit.
• Fluency in English and Finnish.

Responsibilities

• Design and development activities in PLC software development in cooperation with other specialists.
• Responsible for development of display and camera systems in demountables products.
• Creating and implementing new control solutions based on customer needs.
• Following and developing design processes, including requirement gathering, validation methods, implementation of software and generating the documentation.
• Cooperate with universities, suppliers and other partners and support different stakeholders in control systems related issues.
