Job summary

IQM Quantum Computers, based in Espoo with potential Munich collaboration, is seeking a mid-level to senior Quantum Engineer focused on readout for superconducting quantum processors. The role blends physics research with hardware and software development across Espoo and Munich.

You will advance readout techniques, calibrations, and QPU design improvements, while validating methods on real hardware and contributing to cross-functional projects in a growing R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on or theoretical experience with qubits or circuit QED theory.
• Experience with software development, including Python and its ecosystem; familiarity with Git is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test new readout techniques for quantum processors, including mid-circuit and terminal readout.
• Develop calibration methods and benchmarking workflows used by the calibration teams.
• Translate findings into improvements in QPU design and hardware.
• Implement methods in the software framework and validate on real quantum hardware.
• Analyze experimental data and identify readout performance limits.
• Model and simulate readout using theory to guide methods and QPU designs.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, fabrication teams and document results.
