Job summary

VTT is seeking a Research Scientist / Engineer to advance superconducting quantum hardware. The role blends hands-on cleanroom work with device development, characterization, and broader quantum hardware research within the Quantum Computing Hardware team.

Qualifications

• Candidates should hold a degree in quantum technology, superconducting circuits, micro- or nanofabrication, microelectronics, or related fields.
• Demonstrated expertise in one or more listed areas with ability to contribute across disciplines.
• Experience with cleanroom processes and semiconductor fabrication is valued.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development of superconducting qubits and hardware components.
• Fabricate superconducting circuits and Josephson junctions using micro- and nanofabrication.
• Develop, optimize, and qualify cleanroom processes to improve yield and reproducibility.
• Design and develop hardware components and test structures.
• Characterize devices with electrical measurements, microscopy, and related techniques.
• Participate in cryogenic measurements and characterization when needed.
• Analyze data to relate fabrication to device performance.
• Collaborate across circuit design, measurements, materials, and microfabrication teams.
• Document processes and support technology development and scaling.
