Job summary

IQM Quantum Computers is seeking a Quantum Engineer (Junior to Senior) to join the Calibration and Benchmarking team. You will work hands-on with superconducting QPUs to develop, optimize, and execute calibration and benchmarking protocols, directly influencing QPU performance and roadmap decisions.

You will collaborate with hardware, software and design teams, validate new QPU architectures, and mentor junior colleagues (senior level).

Qualifications

  • M.Sc. in Physics, Quantum Engineering, or a related field.
  • Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in quantum technologies.
  • Strong Python programming and scientific data analysis skills.
  • Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary hardware, software and system teams.
  • Hands-on experimental experience with quantum hardware is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calibration and benchmarking on latest-generation QPUs.
  • Develop and improve calibration protocols and optimization strategies for large-scale superconducting processors.
  • Analyze experimental data to identify performance bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to design, simulation, and fabrication teams based on measurements.
  • Contribute to system-level optimization balancing performance and efficiency.
  • Support calibration software development and automated QPU tune-up workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across hardware, software and systems engineering.
