Symeres Finland Oy in Oulu is seeking a proactive Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly. You will manage purchasing, coordinate deliveries, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure laboratories have the materials they need.
You will also handle inventory, contribute to storage practices and related software, and oversee laboratory facilities including safety, key management, and maintenance tasks. The role requires Finnish and English and on-site work.
We are looking for a Purchasing and Logistics Coordinator for a permanent position in Oulu. We are seeking a proactive and organised person who keeps day-to-day practical matters running smoothly and enjoys working with laboratory staff and external partners.
The main focus of the role is purchasing and logistics. You will make sure our laboratories have the materials they need, handle day-to-day purchasing, negotiate agreements and maintain contact with suppliers. You will coordinate incoming deliveries and outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for inventory management and support the development of purchasing and storage practices, as well as related software solutions and processes. Through your work, you will help our laboratories run smoothly every day.
The role also includes responsibility for our laboratory facilities. This is a smaller but important part of the role, and repair and maintenance needs may occasionally increase the workload. You will be responsible for the safety and upkeep of the premises, including key management, safety equipment, cleanliness, and the proper functioning of fume hoods, ventilation, cooling and pressure differentials. You will coordinate actions with service providers and the landlord and respond to alarms in exceptional situations. You have a good understanding of building services (heating, plumbing, ventilation and electrical systems). You will handle troubleshooting, work orders and supply purchases, and carry out minor repairs yourself when needed.
You have a relevant vocational qualification, good IT skills, and good spoken and written Finnish and English for daily work. The role requires the ability to prioritise, respond to changing situations and work with a wide range of people. You communicate clearly and in a timely manner, both internally and with external partners. Knowledge of chemicals and experience with laboratory facilities and operations are considered an advantage.
We offer a varied role in a growing company, a friendly work community and colleagues across our international organisation. Your workplace will be in Oulu, and the role requires you to work on site. This permanent position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
