Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Project Director to lead large-scale data centre projects in Vaala, Finland. You will oversee feasibility, design, construction and completion, develop strategies, budgets and processes, and coordinate with clients, contractors and designers.

The role requires a university degree in engineering/construction, 12+ years' experience in data centres, and willingness to work on-site in Finland.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or construction-related field.
• Minimum 12 years' work experience in construction, ideally in large-scale Data Centre projects.
• Track record delivering hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion.
• Experience with master planning/estate development and capital project planning is desirable.
• Demonstrable client-facing experience at all levels.
• Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes.
• Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process.
• Availability for on-site work.

Responsibilities

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing large-scale and complex data centre projects in the real estate sector, from feasibility, design, construction and completion
• Developing and implementing project strategies, plans and large scale budgets on complex construction projects
• Establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress and other performance indicators
• Managing and mitigating risks and issues
• Preparing and delivering written project communication materials
• Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports
• Managing and coordinating the client, contractors and designers
• Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes, etc.
• Other responsibilities, to include:
  • Developing and delivering presentation materials for client pitches, etc.
  • Managing and updating key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
  • Providing thought leadership and insights on the latest trends and innovations in theData Centre real estate sector

Qualifications

• University Degree in an engineering orconstruction related field
• Minimum 12 years’ work experience in construction, includingexperience ideally in large scale Data Centre projects
• Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
• Experience of master planning/strategic estate development and capital project planning for business case compilation is desirable
• Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles at all levels
• Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes
• Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process
• Availability for on-site work
