Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Logistics Lead for its Data Centre team in Vaala, Finland. This construction-site role focuses on developing and implementing logistics strategies for critical materials, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and optimizing site delivery.

You will manage vendor contracts, collaborate with construction and engineering teams, and use SAP or similar ERP tools to monitor performance and mitigate risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 10-15 years in logistics or supply chain roles, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience with data center or large-scale industrial projects is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, customs regulations, and construction logistics.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and project management tools.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and coordinate across teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement logistics strategies for materials such as steel, concrete, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with specifications and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and site delivery.
• Oversee staging, storage, and just-in-time delivery to minimize site congestion.
• Collaborate with construction managers and engineering teams to align logistics with project phases.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies (e.g., buffer stock, alternative sourcing).
• Use ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and construction platforms to track procurement and delivery.
• Maintain dashboards and reports for stakeholders on logistics performance.
