Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a Project Director to join our Data Centre team in Oulu, Finland. You will lead large-scale data centre projects from feasibility through completion in a client‑facing role within a collaborative, ambitious team.

With a market-leading client base and opportunities to shape strategic commissions, you will drive project strategies, budgets and governance for hyperscale developments in the Nordics. Availability for on‑site work is required.

Qualifications

• University degree in construction-related field or trade qualification.
• 12+ years' experience in construction, including hyperscale Data Centre projects.
• Experience delivering construction from inception to completion.
• Desirable: master planning / capital project planning for business case.
• Client-facing experience at all levels.
• Availability for on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale data centre projects from feasibility through completion.
• Develop project strategies, plans and budgets for complex construction.
• Establish processes and systems to be used across the project.
• Monitor progress and report performance indicators.
• Manage risks and issues; coordinate clients, contractors and designers.
• Prepare and present progress reports and communications.
• Chair meetings and draft minutes; update internal database.
• Provide thought leadership on data centre trends and innovations.

This role is client facing, working within a professional and ambitious team, where you will receive excellent support. We have brought our brightest minds together to respond to our client’s Project and Programme management objectives working on major hyperscale projects.

Responsibilities

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for:

• Leading and managing large-scale and complex data centre projects in the real estate sector, from feasibility, design, construction and completion
• Developing and implementing project strategies, plans and large scale budgets on complex construction projects
• Establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
• Monitoring and reporting on project progress and other performance indicators
• Managing and mitigating risks and issues
• Preparing and delivering written project communication materials
• Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports
• Managing and coordinating the client, contractors and designers
• Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes, etc.
• Other responsibilities, to include:
  • Developing and delivering presentation materials for client pitches, etc.
  • Managing and updating key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
  • Providing thought leadership and insights on the latest trends and innovations in theData Centre real estate sector

Qualifications

• University Degree in an constructionrelated field and / or trade qualification
• Minimum 12 years’ work experience in construction, includingexperience in large scale mission criticalprojects
• Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects ideally from inception to completion
• Experience of master planning/strategic estate development and capital project planning for business case compilation is desirable
• Demonstrable experience in client-facing roles at all levels
• Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes
• Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process
• Availability for on-site work
