Job summary

Turner & Townsend is recruiting a site-based Civil Supervisor for our Data Centre team in Oulu, Finland. You will oversee daily site duties including quality control, coordinating multiple contractors and ensuring compliance with industrial processes and project requirements.

You will lead governance and control systems, run weekly meetings, monitor safety measures, and report progress against the programme and KPIs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience, data centre or mission critical projects preferred.
• Availability for on-site work in Finland on a site-based role.
• Experience coordinating many sub-contractors across complex works.
• Strong written, verbal and analytical skills.
• Self-directed and able to collaborate within a project team.
• Prior leadership experience in project environments.
• Understanding of specifications, plans and related documents.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and construction project management software.
• Highly motivated self-starter with proactive mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend are leaders in professional services to the Data Centre sector globally. Due to the continued success and expansion of our Data Centre business in the Nordics area we are currently recruiting for an experienced, site based Civil Supervisor to join our site Data Centre team in the Oulu, Finland.

This position plans and conducts activities concerned with daily site duties such as quality control of multiple construction contractors, overseeing work put in place to ensure industrial processes, materials and products by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage a suite of governance, communication and management control systems for the proper conduct and assured delivery of the client’s essential services and works.
• Monitor overall team performance and initiate any required safety or performance improvement measures and methodologies.
• Monitor and audit compliance with the requirements of the management systems and report as required.
• Active engagement in the Project Risk Management process to continually identify project risks, actively assign and drive mitigation management activities.
• Initiate and conduct weekly technical and progress meetings relating to the services and works.
• Manage the attainment of design stage deliverables to schedule and quality that may be concurrent with any fast track works package procurements and associated permitting and approvals requirements.
• Conduct and lead site progress reviews on a daily basis to review HSE, logistics and progress against the programme.
• Produce formal reports on project progress measured against the baseline and milestone dates and agreed project‑wide KPIs.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and ad‑hoc reports on project progress for the Employer’s representative, prepare and conduct presentations as required.
• Manage and administer the relevant contracts affording appropriate protection of the client’s interests.
• Manage the timely issuance of company invoices and receipts against the agreed contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, ideally with data centre and/or mission critical projects like Pharma, Life Sciences or Nuclear.
• Availability for on‑site work.
• Experience with coordination of numerous sub‑contractors.
• Excellent written, verbal and analytic skills.
• Self‑directed and able to function with ease as part of a team and effectively collaborate with internal and external resources.
• Leadership experience.
• Understanding of specifications, project plans, and all other project related documents.
• Computer skills, including Microsoft365 and construction project management software.
• Highly motivated self‑starter.
• Ability to multi‑task and identify priority activities.
• Possess the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify priority activities.
