Sandvik is seeking a Product Specialist to join the Underground Drilling Technical Services team in Tampere, Finland. The role focuses on commissioning, diagnosing complex issues, and remote support for an expanding intelligent drilling equipment fleet, with international travel as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. in a relevant technical field and hands-on experience with control systems, digital data solutions, and mobile equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Commissioning intelligent underground drilling equipment and tracking performance throughout its lifetime.
• Solve demanding technical issues for customers and sales areas at mine sites.
• Troubleshoot remotely on the Salesforce platform.
• Conduct field service trips for complex situations requiring specialist knowledge.
• Train technical teams and customers in a digitalized underground mining environment, focusing on drilling equipment.
• Assist customers with data transfer, connectivity, and network setup issues.
• Develop data-driven capabilities for remote technical support.

Job description

The Underground Drilling Technical Services team has an excellent opportunity for a Product Specialist to ensure our customers receive world-class support globally. As our intelligent drilling equipment fleet is growing, we are looking for new talent to join our technical support team. This position is permanent, full-time, and based at our global technology and manufacturing center for drilling equipment in Tampere, Finland.

Your mission – technically skilled, customer service - minded expert

You will be part of the Underground Drilling Technical Support team and work in close collaboration with our frontline teams around the world, the training team, R&D and product management. Your duties include:

• Commissioning intelligent underground drilling equipment and following up on equipment performance throughout its lifetime
• Solving demanding technical issues for our customers and sales areas at customer mine sites
• Solving demanding technical support tickets remotely on the Salesforce platform
• Carrying out field service trips in problematic situations where factory level technical knowledge or drilling application operations optimization skills are needed
• Training technical teams in sales areas and end customers in a digitalized and automated underground mining environment, with a focus on underground drilling equipment
• Supporting customers in equipment data transfer, connectivity, and network setup issues
• Developing data-driven capabilities of remote technical support

Your background and what we find important

You will be trained for the job. However, to succeed in this position, you will need:

• A B.Sc. degree in a relevant technical field, such as automation or electrical engineering, is an advantage
