Job summary

Normet is seeking a Product Engineer to take technical ownership of its product line in the Logistics & Scaling group, based in Iisalmi, Finland. You will drive design, testing, validation, and lifecycle improvements across product families.

You will work with engineering, product management, production and service in an international environment, with opportunities to deepen your technical and product expertise while collaborating across functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical engineering, automation or another relevant technical field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in product engineering or a similar technical role.
• Experience with machinery, mobile equipment, or other complex technical products.
• Understanding product development, system integration, testing, validation, and technical change management.
• Good written and spoken English skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Experience in underground mining or tunnelling equipment is considered an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Take day-to-day technical ownership of assigned products or product families throughout their lifecycle.

Product Engineer

to join Normet's Logistics & Scaling Product Line and take technical ownership of assigned products or product families and support their development throughout the product lifecycle.

The position is based in Iisalmi, Finland.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Take day-to-day technical ownership of assigned products or product families throughout their lifecycle.
• Play a key technical role in new product development and coordinate technical design, system integration, testing, and validation.
• Translate product requirements and customer needs into practical technical solutions together with relevant engineering functions.
• Drive technical changes, improvements, and corrective actions for existing products.
• Participate in prototype builds, testing, validation, and field trials.
• Support lifecycle activities, including component changes, obsolescence management, and technical upgrades.

To shine in this position, we hope you have:

• A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, automation or another relevant technical field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in product engineering, product development, or a similar technical role.
• Experience with machinery, mobile equipment, or other complex technical products.
• Understanding product development, system integration, testing, validation, and technical change management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on, solution-oriented approach.
• Ability to take ownership and work effectively across different functions and stakeholders.
• Good written and spoken English skills
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Experience in underground mining or tunnelling equipment, hydraulics, electrical or control systems, functional safety or product lifecycle management is considered an advantage.
