Job summary

Normet, a global technology leader in mining, tunnelling and construction, seeks a Design Engineer, Hydraulics, to strengthen our hydraulic design team in Iisalmi, Finland. The role includes designing hydraulics for Normet equipment, performing calculations, and supporting production, with potential remote work from Kuopio. The ideal candidate has a B.Eng.

We are looking for a

Design Engineer, Hydraulics

to strengthen our hydraulic design team. In this role, you’ll design and develop Normet equipment hydraulics for mining and tunnelling applications including battery electric vehicles and applications for mechanized or fully automated work processes. You’ll work in collaboration with other engineers and production and purchasing teams. The role is based in Iisalmi, Finland, with the possibility to work also remotely from our remote work office in Kuopio.

Main responsibilities and tasks:

• Design and development of Normet equipment hydraulics
• Hydraulic calculations and measurements
• Supporting global production, sales and service organizations
• Participating in proto equipment tests with our testing team

Co-operation with our Indian hydraulic design team

To shine in this position, we hope you have:

• B. Eng. or M. Sc (Tech.) education in relevant field
• Previous working experience in mobile machinery hydraulics & mechanics is an advantage, but you may also be just graduating
• Experience with E3 design software or similar and Inventor is an advantage
• Full working proficiency with both Finnish and English
• Readiness to work both individually and as part of a team
