Job summary

HUS is seeking a Practical Nurse for a substitute position from August 24 to December 31, 2026, at the Neurology Ward N1 in Peijas Hospital. The role focuses on acute care and maintaining functional capacity within a multidisciplinary team.

The ward treats patients with sudden and severe CNS diseases, including stroke, epilepsy, CNS infections, and MS. The position offers an opportunity to work in a 13-bed unit with structured orientation.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Finnish and Swedish required (one good, the other satisfactory).
• Vaccination protection according to Infectious Diseases Act and a TB health certificate.
• Degree as a Practical Nurse or Basic Care Nurse.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, individual-based nursing care for assigned patients.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues.
• Work the three-shift schedule with community-based scheduling to help balance work and personal life.
• Receive an individual orientation supported by a clinical teacher and supervisors.

Requirements

• Degree as a Practical Nurse or Basic Care Nurse
• Proficiency in both Finnish and Swedish is required (one at a good level, the other at a satisfactory level)
• Candidates must have vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act and a tuberculosis health certificate.
• Degree as a Practical Nurse or Basic Care Nurse, Good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory skills in Swedish (or vice versa), Vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act, Health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis.
