We are now looking for new personal assistants for our clients for important but flexible assistance work. The work is paid employment under the private social services sector collective agreement and suits those seeking full-time, part-time, occasional or gig work. As a personal assistant you decide how much and when you work, so the role also fits alongside other work or studies. You do not need special education for the assistant job; the right attitude and reliability are the most important traits of an excellent personal assistant. With Aarre Avustajat you will receive continuous support and guidance from your own supervisor, and you will never be left alone with your tasks or questions.
Personal assistance is a service where the personal assistant acts as the hands and feet of the client, carrying out tasks the client would do themselves but cannot do due to disability or illness. The purpose is to help the client with everyday tasks at home and outside the home. Tasks are often ordinary chores we all do in our own daily life. The assistant’s duties do not include tasks requiring a separate qualification such as a practical nurse degree; anyone can work as an assistant. Typical duties include helping the client in the store, during outdoor activities, at meals or while cooking, dressing, hobbies, or household chores.
We have found many personal assistants are best suited to people who have the right attitude toward this important work. The assistant should be reliable, positive, helpful, diligent and people-oriented. You do not need previous experience, as every new assistant is trained in our own Aarre Academy before starting work. Experience or education in care work can be beneficial for some clients.
Personal assistance occurs on weekdays and weekends, with duties often available from morning to evening. At Aarre Avustajat you can influence how much and when you want to work and for which clients. We aim to match clients’ needs with the preferences of our assistants so that it works for everyone. You will always meet a potential new client before starting the relationship, and if something does not work as you expected, we can find a suitable alternative together. You can work as an assistant for as many clients as you want if you choose.
People being hired as personal assistants must present a criminal record extract that is no more than six months old to the employer before starting; the extract is obtained electronically from the Judicial Administration.
