We are looking for new personal assistants for our clients for important but flexible assistance work. The job is paid work under private social services sector collective agreement and suits someone looking for full-time, part-time, seasonal or agency/overtime work. As a personal assistant you decide how much and when you work, so the job fits alongside other work or studies. You do not need special education for the job; the right attitude and reliability are the most important qualities for an excellent personal assistant. At Aarre Avustajat you will receive ongoing support and guidance from your supervisor, and you will never be left with your tasks or questions alone, we promise.
Personal assistance is a service where the personal assistant acts as the client’s hands and feet to carry out tasks the client would perform themselves but cannot do alone due to disability or illness. The purpose is to help the client with everyday tasks at home and outside the home. Tasks are often ordinary chores we all do in daily life. The assistant role does not include tasks requiring, for example, a practical nurse qualification; anyone can operate as an assistant. Examples include helping the client in shopping, walking, eating, cooking, dressing, hobbies or housekeeping.
We, as the employer for hundreds of personal assistants, find that the best fit has the right attitude toward helpful work. The assistant should be reliable, positive, helpful, hardworking and people-oriented. You do not need prior related work experience, as every new assistant is trained in Aarre Academy before starting. Experience or training in care may be beneficial for some clients.
Personal assistance occurs on weekdays and weekends, with shifts often available from morning to evening. You can influence how much and when you work and for which client. We try to match client needs with the assistants’ work preferences so that it suits everyone. You will always meet a potential new client before starting the relationship, and if something does not work as you expected, we can find a suitable alternative together. You may work as a personal assistant for as many clients as you wish.
When applying, you will be required to provide a criminal record extract dated within the last 6 months before starting work. The extract is obtained electronically from the Finnish National Police. For any questions about the job, please email rekry@aarreavustajat.fi.
