Job summary

Aarre Avustajat is seeking new personal assistants in Finland to support clients with daily tasks at home and outside. The role offers flexible shifts and the ability to work full-time, part-time, occasional, or gig work, with pay according to the private social services sector collective agreement.

No special training is required; the right attitude and reliability are prioritized. You will receive ongoing support from your own staff member and will never be left to handle issues alone.

JOBS AVAILABLE AS A PERSONAL ASSISTANT

We are currently looking for new personal assistants for our clients for important but flexible assistance work. The work is paid according to the private social services sector collective agreement and is suitable for a good person looking for full-time, part-time, occasional, or gig work. As a personal assistant, you can define how much and when you work, so the job also fits alongside another job or studies. You do not need special training for the assistant's work; the right attitude and reliability are the most important qualities for an excellent personal assistant. At Aarre Avustajat, you will receive continuous support and guidance from your own staff member, and we promise you will never be left alone with your matters or questions.

WHAT IS PERSONAL ASSISTANCE AND WHAT DOES AN ASSISTANT DO?

Personal assistance is a service where a personal assistant acts as the client's hands and feet, performing the actions that the client would do themselves but cannot manage alone due to a disability or illness. The purpose of a personal assistant is to help the client with everyday tasks both at home and outside the home.

Assistance tasks are often ordinary daily chores that we all perform in our own lives. Therefore, the assistant's work does not include tasks that require a separate degree, such as a practical nurse's degree, and anyone can act as an assistant. Assistance tasks include, for example, assisting the client in shopping, outdoor activities, eating or cooking, dressing, hobbies, or home care.

WHAT KIND OF PERSON IS SUITED TO BE AN ASSISTANT?

As an employer of several hundred personal assistants, we can state that the best candidates for personal assistants are people with the right attitude toward important assistance work. It is good for the assistant to be a reliable, positive, helpful, hardworking, and people-oriented person.

You do not need previous similar work experience, as every new assistant is given comprehensive orientation at Aarre Avustajat's own Aarre Academy before starting work. However, experience or training in the assistance and care sector may be beneficial for some clients.

WHAT KIND OF SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE AND CAN I INFLUENCE THEM?

Personal assistance is a service that takes place on both weekdays and weekends, and possible shifts are often available from morning to evening. At Aarre Avustajat, you can influence how much and when you want to work and for which client. We strive to match our clients' assistance needs and our assistants' work wishes so that they suit everyone. You will always get to meet a potential new client before starting the client relationship, and if you feel that something is not working as you thought, we can together find a suitable alternative for you. If you wish, you can work as an assistant for as many clients as you like.

A person hired as a personal assistant must present a criminal record extract less than 6 months old to the employer before starting work. The criminal record extract is requested electronically from the National Police Board by the job seeker.
