Lapland Safaris Saariselkä and Hetta are seeking Outdoor Activity Workers for the Christmas season 2026. You will oversee outdoor activities in a festive area and ensure guests, including families and children, have a joyful experience.
The role is seasonal with a fixed-term contract under the Adventure Services Collective Agreement. English communication is primary; other languages such as Spanish are useful. Accommodation and training are provided.
Outdoor Activity Worker, Lapland Safaris. Lapland Staff is looking for Outdoor Activity Workers for Lapland Safaris Saariselkä and Hetta for the Christmas season 2026. A workday of an Outdoor Activity Worker consists of various tasks including overseeing outdoor activities in a Christmas themed area surrounded by Lapland’s beautiful nature.
You will be working with international groups of guests, consisting of families with children. Your job is to make sure that all guests, children, and grown-ups are having a day full of joy and fun. The work is mostly independent, but at the same time you are a part of a big team which works in the same area. Outdoor Activity Workers work during the busiest Christmas season, which means that working days are hectic and sometimes can be long. The length of the days varies according to the group and the program.
The work includes preparation of the activity area and different kinds of maintenance work, as well as cleaning the area after the end of the day. The important task of providing clothing for our guests can also be your responsibility, as well as clothing maintenance. Communication with guests is conducted mainly in English. Your English language skills do not have to be excellent, but you need to be able to give instructions to our guests in English and at least briefly answer their questions or direct the questions to another colleague. Other language skills, especially Spanish is very useful in Saariselkä.
In addition, please note that in order to work in Finland, EU-citizenship/passport or valid working permit to Finland is required. In Saariselkä you will introduce tobogganing, mini-skidoo, kick-sledding or tandem skiing to our guests. You can also be working at the reindeer info, pancake-hut or at the warmup cabin. You might also work as a road crosser, when you make sure that the guests are crossing the road safely, either by snowmobile or by walking. In addition, your work tasks may include clothing and equipment maintenance.
In Hetta your workplace can be the toboggan slide or bobsleigh hill, you might be teaching the guests to drive the snowmobile, or you might be serving ginger breads in the snow castle and telling stories about the castle itself. You might also be part of the very important team that organizes the visits to Santa Claus himself. In Hetta, providing clothing to the guests and clothing maintenance plays a big role in the Outdoor Activity workers' daily routines and work tasks.
The employment relationship is a fixed term seasonal contract by the Collective Agreement in the Adventure Services sector. Work will begin in mid-November or at the end of November and will last approximately until the Christmas holidays in Hetta, and until the end of December 2026 in Saariselkä. Salary according to the Collective Agreement of Adventure Services grade A, hourly wage starting from 10,10 € (gross). Work will be done also during weekends and public holidays. Sundays and Finnish bank holidays are paid double. Accommodation is organized in shared rooms, with reasonable rent in comparison to the local price level. Please note that Lapland Safaris is a non-smoking working place.
