Job description

Do you want to help design world-class ship deck systems — from lifeboats to mooring gear — that make passenger and polar vessels truly seaworthy? At Helsinki Shipyard, we specialize in tailor‑made, high‑class vessels for the most demanding marine conditions, from icy polar routes to luxury cruises. Our legacy dates back to 1865. Since November 2023, we’ve been part of the Canadian Davie Group, strengthening our presence on the global shipbuilding stage. We’re always on the lookout for motivated professionals to join our Deck Outfitting Design team.

  • Mooring and anchoring systems
  • Lifeboats and launching mechanisms
  • Deck cranes and handling equipment
  • Various structural and outfitting components across the vessel

We cover the full design life cycle from basic design through procurement and detail design coordination and work closely with production, suppliers, and other disciplines. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary design organization of ~120 people, and a wider shipyard community of ~400 professionals.

  • Coordinating detail design tasks with internal and external partners
  • Supporting procurement activities and supplier selectionParticipating in budget planning and resourcing
