Job summary

Itä-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue seeks a NURSE for a permanent position starting 7 September 2026 or as agreed. The role is based at the elderly care unit Harmaakallio in Loviisa, focusing on an aging population and multilingual residents.

Qualifications

Job description

Itä-Uudenmaan hyvinvointialue seeks a NURSE for a permanent position starting 7 September 2026 or as agreed. The role is based at the elderly care unit Harmaakallio in Loviisa, within an aging population focus. The unit offers 56 round-the-clock assisted living places and provides safe care and housing in a homely environment for multilingual residents (Finnish and Swedish speakers). The work is patient-centered and activating, aiming to maintain residents’ functional capacity and empowerment.

Nursing duties include planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive care for residents in collaboration with the team, and making related decisions in consultation with the unit doctor. We value diverse skills and provide training opportunities, with emphasis on good interpersonal skills. Occupational health services are provided by Mehiläinen.

The candidate must hold a nursing degree or a prior diploma-level qualification, be licensed under the Social and Health Care Professionals Act, and demonstrate suitability for the role. Proficiency in one domestic language (Finnish or Swedish) and adequate skills in the other language are required. Experience in elderly care is advantageous. Terms follow the SOTE collective agreement.

The base salary is 3103.57 €/month with possible allowances. The role is two-shift work including evenings and weekends, with a six-month probationary period. A vaccination certificate as required by infectious diseases law and a tuberculosis assessment are mandatory. A police background check under a relevant law is required prior to taking up duties.
