Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Lead UPS Hardware Engineer in Vantaa, Finland. You will be a senior technical expert within the UPS R&D organization, owning challenging power electronics tasks and guiding other engineers. The role blends hands-on engineering with broad technical influence across projects and teams.

The position is hybrid in Finland, with potential international travel and close collaboration with global hardware engineering communities.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in electronics or electrical product development.
• Strong expertise in power electronics design and development.
• Experience with UPS products or similar power conversion technologies is beneficial.
• Solid understanding of hardware architecture, component selection, circuit design, thermal management, and system-level design.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems and drive issues to resolution.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Genuine interest in mentoring and supporting colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware design activities for advanced UPS and power electronics products.
• Act as a subject matter expert in power electronics hardware architecture, component selection, circuit design, and hardware integration.
• Support new product development projects from concept phase through product launch.
• Perform technical analysis, troubleshooting, root cause investigations, and problem resolution for complex engineering challenges.
• Review and validate hardware designs and provide technical guidance to other engineers.
• Mentor and coach less experienced engineers within the team.
• Contribute to technology development, innovation activities, and future product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary and global teams across R&D and product organizations.

Lead UPS Hardware Engineer

Are you an experienced power electronics professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and helping others succeed? Join Eaton's growing UPS R&D organization in Vantaa and play a key role in developing the next generation of critical power solutions.

In this role, you will be a senior technical expert within Eaton's UPS product development organization. You will take ownership of challenging power electronics development tasks, contribute to new product development projects, and help solve the most demanding technical challenges across the organization.

This is not a traditional people management position. Instead, you will act as a trusted technical leader and mentor, supporting other hardware engineers through design reviews, problem solving, coaching, and sharing best practices. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands-on engineering work with significant technical influence across projects and teams.

You will report directly to the Engineering Manager and work closely with Eaton's hardware engineering community in Finland and globally.
