Job summary

Sandvik in Turku is seeking a Senior Power Unit Engineer to own the power unit system definition, architecture, and lifecycle across underground mining machinery. You will develop unit solutions with suppliers, drive emissions-compliant and reliable performance, and lead validation activities.

You will collaborate across engineering disciplines, travel to field locations as needed, and mentor peers while shaping technology roadmaps for future power unit innovations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Extensive power unit/powertrain experience for mobile equipment.
• Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines and their integration in demanding environments.
• Experience leading technical discussions and collaborating with suppliers.
• Fluent in Finnish and English.

Responsibilities

• Own the power unit system definition, architecture, and lifecycle ownership.
• Develop power unit solutions with suppliers ensuring performance, emissions compliance, safety, and reliability.
• Lead validation, testing, and problem-solving activities with data-driven actions.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines and travel occasionally to customer sites.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technology roadmaps.
