Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a self-driven R&D Product Safety Engineer to join the Automation BU in Tampere. You will focus on functional safety and product safety in automation projects, supporting risk assessments, safety concepts, and verification documentation to ensure safety and compliance of AutoMine products.

You will work with R&D teams and customer projects, understand applicable standards and regulations, including CE marking and Cyber Resilience Act, and contribute to a safer, compliant mine

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in engineering; relevant certification or coursework in safety is a plus.
• Experience or strong motivation in functional safety, product safety, automation or machinery safety.

Responsibilities

• Focus on functional safety and product safety in automation development projects.
• Contribute to risk assessments, safety concepts, documentation and verification evidence.
• Interpret and apply safety regulations and standards (CE marking, Cyber Resilience Act) to product development.
• Collaborate with R&D teams, product owners and customer projects to implement safety requirements.
