Job summary

Helsinki Shipyard is seeking a Ship Fuel and Lubrication Oils System Responsible Designer to join the 40-member Machinery Design Department. You will lead the design of fuel and lubrication systems for new ships, with a focus on future and alternative marine fuels.

You will collaborate across disciplines to make technical, regulatory, safety and quality decisions, prepare piping diagrams and documentation, and support procurement and testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture or related engineering field.
• Strong problem-solving skills are essential.
• Experience in ship piping systems is highly appreciated but not mandatory.
• Experience in ship structural integration, automation, power electrics, pressurized oil lubrication, and mechatronics is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Act as the responsible systems designer for fuel and lubrication oil systems throughout ship projects.
• Make technical, economical, regulatory, safety and quality decisions.
• Develop fuel and lubrication system solutions during the design process.
• Prepare system arrangements, piping diagrams, specifications and documentation in the basic design phase.
• Support procurement of equipment and system components.
• Prepare test and commissioning programs and provide production support.
