Job summary

Ramboll Group A/S in Vaasa (Finland) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead data center cooling design within our Nordic DataCenterFacilities team. You will work with experts across the region and globally to deliver sustainable, high-performance solutions.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, innovative thermal management for AI/HPC, and client advisory on cooling strategies and future-ready data centers.

Qualifications

• Experience with designing or constructing datacenter facilities.
• Experience working as a consulting mechanical engineer.
• A thorough understanding of digital design delivery through Revit/BIM 360.
• Excellent communicator capable of explaining complex technical concepts to our clients and project team partners in plain language, verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of data center cooling and HVAC infrastructure.
• Develop innovative thermal management solutions for AI, HPC, hyperscale, and colocation facilities.
• Ensure cooling systems achieve required resilience, efficiency, sustainability, and uptime targets.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams across multiple projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients on cooling strategy, liquid cooling adoption, and future-ready data center design.
