Job summary

Enersense Oyj is seeking an experienced Automation Specialist to join our project team in Helsinki, Finland, to drive automation and control system delivery across the project lifecycle.

You will coordinate engineering activities, review designs, liaise with management, vendors and clients, and support commissioning, with travel up to 20% to project sites. This role requires strong analytical skills, collaboration across disciplines, and the ability to own assigned responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or related field.
• Several years of experience in industrial automation and control system engineering.
• Experience with PLC, DCS, SCADA or other industrial control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate automation engineering activities from design through commissioning and handover.
• Develop, review and approve automation and control system designs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Define automation requirements and ensure compliance with project specifications, standards and regulations.
• Coordinate automation interfaces with process, electrical, instrumentation and other engineering disciplines.
• Review technical documentation, drawings, calculations and vendor documentation.
• Participate in the selection and technical evaluation of automation systems, equipment and suppliers.
• Support procurement activities, including preparation of technical specifications and evaluation of supplier offers.
• Coordinate and supervise automation contractors and suppliers during project execution.
• Support the control system engineering and integration activities.
• Participate in testing, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
• Identify technical risks and support the resolution of design and implementation issues.
• Monitor progress, quality and compliance of automation deliverables.
• Support project management with technical expertise, planning and reporting.
• Ensure that automation documentation is completed and updated for commissioning and final handover.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and development of automation engineering practices.
